For Authors & Translators

Publish With Lantern

We are dedicated to producing intellectually rigorous, spiritually grounded, and beautifully crafted works that preserve and inspire engagement with the rich tradition of Shia Islam. If your work shares this mission, we would like to hear from you.

What We Publish

Original Scholarship in English

New works of theology, hadith studies, philosophy, history, ethics, and Islamic political thought.

Translations

Faithful and accessible translations of significant Arabic and Persian works into English.

Academic Monographs

Rigorous research that contributes to the scholarly conversation on Shia thought.

Children's Literature

For Lantern Kids — beautiful, age-appropriate stories that nurture young hearts and minds.

What We Don't Publish

We are committed to work that elevates the tradition. We respectfully decline:

  • Amateur or unedited work that has not undergone serious revision
  • Sectarian polemics or attacks on other traditions
  • Narrow ideological work that closes rather than opens inquiry

We are open to anything that enhances scholarship and demonstrates the real Islam in its depth and breadth.
